July 20, 2009

I've always known about blogs. I've read some here and there. Never imagimed I would do one myself. This weekend I found out that a few of my friends have them and I thought why not? I just hope that I stick with it. This could be something very fun and interesting!!! We all start things we don't finish. Life is so busy these day. I have my kids to keep up with. Then you throw in the house, dog, husband, work, face book, and e-mails. Now...my blog!! I think I can swing it for a while. We will see.

So...today is Monday. Saw my highschool girls friend on Saturday. The girls picked me up at 10am. We hung out at Amy's house. Went out to lunch. The weather was GREAT! We sat outside on a deck at this nice little Mexican place. I think we stayed for a few hours. It was to the point where the staff kept asking us if we need anything, knowing that we didn't and just hoping we would leave and quit taking up the table space. It was so nice to sit in the sun on a cool day w/ no kids or husband, just the girls I grew up with and talk about nothing!! I love my family to the end and beyond. Sometimes getting away for the day makes comming home a little better. Thank God for cells phones though. It really brings you back to reality. Having some girl time and the phone kept ringing wondering when I was comming home. Maybe the first time I said, "I don't know, I will call when I know something." they took as.."I don't know, but if I keep calling, she will come home now!!??!!"

Who knows? I had a good time and enjoyed the time away.

On Sunday we decided to work on the house a bit do something fun with the kids. We are going to re-paint our front door. Sounds easier than it appears. When Jess first painted the door it clumped or something? It did not go on smooth and even. We knew it would have to be re-done at some pointe! He took the door off the frame, sanded down the old clumpy paint and put the new color on. We will need to put a few coats on but I like the color. I think its called coffee bean or something bean? Its better than the red I picked out the first time.

So our fun kid thing. We kept it simple. We went to the park, the skate board park as Ben calles it. They have some ramps there for skateboards that he takes his 4-wheel scooter on. Luckly the ramps were not busy so Ben and I went there while Jess and Kate went to the play ground. I'm sure I got the easier portion of the job at the park that day. I just sat and watched Ben go on the ramps while I can only imagine what crazy Kate was doing with Jess on the play ground. Thats okay though. Last time we went to the park to see our neighbor friend do his BMX race and I asked Jess where is Kate? He said I don't know, Well, can you look around? He just slightly turned his head and told me he didn't see her. I jumped up to start looking. She was just behind Jess! I was a bit aggravated that he did not see her. Jess told me, "I wasn't aware that I was in charge of watching her?" Is he not her parent? I did not know I had to asign him duties when we went out? So I raised my voice to him and said a few words. He just looked at me and ever so slightly out of the corner of his mouth said, "Can you please not yell at me in front of all these people." At that point I felt his mortification. I stoped yelling. But I did give him the evil look!!
